Our Values

At Mohinani, our operations revolve around four core values which emphasizes our commitment to the growth of all our stakeholders. Our values will only come to life with the help and commitment of our employees, clients and stakeholders.

Our Essence is People

People are the essence of the Mohinani Group. While we strive to deliver great products and services, we recognize that it is people that make this possible. Ultimately, at the Mohinani Group it is people first, business second.

Whether it is fellow team members, clients or stakeholders, people are the essence of what makes this group succeed. So from how we engage, to whom we consider when making a decision or taking an action, we think about the people impact. We care about the consequences our actions have on others.

We are also aware of the importance of the performance of people in the achievement of our goal and strategies. We support team members to improve and provide guidance and accountability when required. Caring for others includes supporting their growth.

Having people at the essence of the Group means that respect for people is at our core. We respect employees, clients, stakeholders, indeed human of all diverse backgrounds.

The Buck Stops with Me

We believe that each employee is accountable for everything we do in achieving outstanding results by growing sustainable brands through innovation, consistency and efficiency. As a member of the Mohinani team what you say you are going to do, you do. What you are responsible for, you focus on. What you see, you act on.

We are not an organization where we ‘pass the buck’ or ‘wait for someone else to see it’. We are an organization where the person who sees it, sorts it. The person responsible delivers it.

We do not shy away from responsibility. We own up to our mistakes, in order to resolve them quickly and learn in the process. You are accountable.

Partners for the Long Haul

At Mohinani Group we value our history, our culture and our relationships. Being a multi-generational family business means we have built many relationships over many years. It is this commitment to the long haul that supports us in the good times and gets us through the bad ones.

People, who engage, both inside and outside the company, know that we want to build and grow with them. They see it in the decisions that we make, the approach that we take and in the way that we act. We do not need to take short cuts. We can take time and be patient.

We affirm that good things take time. We focus on building and nurturing an “all-inclusive” successful relationships and brands that stand the test of time.

Feet on the Ground

To stay grounded you have to be conscious and aware of what is going on around you, both in and outside the business. With your team, your customers, your suppliers and even your competitors. It is about making sure you see and hear what is happening.

Being part of a large organization we can sometimes forget about the details and the activities that keep our business running. The information that keeps us ahead of the game and the warning signs that helps us avoid a crisis. In the daily strive to achieve, we can lose touch with the bigger picture. We can even lose focus.

We make sure that we stay grounded in all that we do to the benefit of our employees, communities and the environment.

“Through common alignment on these values as an organization, we strengthen our foundation and grow with purpose” – Mr. Ramchand Mohinani, Chairman

The Bajaj Group is amongst the top 10 business houses in India. Its footprint stretches over a wide range of industries, spanning automobiles (two wheelers manufacturer and three wheelers manufacturer), home appliances, lighting, iron and steel, insurance, travel and finance. The group’s flagship company, Bajaj Auto, is ranked as the world’s fourth largest three and two wheeler manufacturer and the Bajaj brand is well-known across several countries in Latin America, Africa, Middle East, South and South East Asia.

Founded in 1926, at the height of India’s movement for independence from the British, the group has an illustrious history. The integrity, dedication, resourcefulness and determination to succeed which are characteristic of the group today, are often traced back to its birth during those days of relentless devotion to a common cause. Jamnalal Bajaj, founder of the group, was a close confidant and disciple of Mahatma Gandhi. In fact, Gandhiji had adopted him as his son.

This close relationship and his deep involvement in the independence movement did not leave Jamnalal Bajaj with much time to spend on his newly launched business venture. We are celebrating 125th Birth anniversary of Shri. Jamnalal Bajaj on 4th of November 2014.

His son, Kamalnayan Bajaj, then 27, took over the reigns of business in 1942. He too was close to Gandhiji and it was only after Independence in 1947, that he was able to give his full attention to the business. Kamalnayan Bajaj not only consolidated the group, but also diversified into various manufacturing activities.

The present Chairman of the group, Rahul Bajaj, took charge of the business in 1965. Under his leadership, the turnover of the Bajaj Auto the flagship company has gone up from INR.72 million to INR. 120 billion, its product portfolio has expanded and the brand has found a global market. He is one of India’s most distinguished business leaders, bike manufacturer india and internationally respected for his business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2005, Rahul Bajaj’s son Rajiv Bajaj stepped into the shoes of Managing Director of Bajaj Auto and steered the organization to becoming a global automobile behemoth. He introduced the Pulsar range of bikes, that revolutionised the two wheeler market in India. The legacy of our Auto Rickshaws have been soaring heights and display unparalleled market dominance across any automobile segment.

In 2007, Bajaj Auto acquired a 14% stake in KTM that has since grown to 48%. This partnership catalysed Bajaj Auto’s endeavour to democratise motorcycle racing in India. Bajaj Auto today exclusively manufactures Duke range of KTM bikes and exports them worldwide. In FY2018, KTM was the fastest growing motorcycle brand in the country

Bajaj Auto has also led the pioneering introduction of India’s first ever Quadricycle – Qute.

Bajaj Auto exports to 70+ countries and a significant share of revenues come from Exports. This stands as a testament to the new brand image – The World’s Favourite Indian.
